The staff was so kind and helpful. They included a continental breakfast and 24 hr snacks and drinks. Access to a refrigerator and microwave. Right across from the boardwalk. Room was very clean and we had a good size balcony. The only thing would be they haven’t remodeled in quite some time, But I’m sure that would raise prices, so all good.

Staff and location were great. The building really needs a good cleaning, common areas like staircase carpet is old, not clean. Paint chipped, screens & windows dirty. Our bathroom has nice wood trim but it was dirty-catches dust dirt, hair. There were stains on bath ceiling, wall near base of tub had water damage. Cleaning crew was busy getting ready for guests, but deep cleaning & renovation in offseason is recommended. We made the best of it and enjoyed our local activities but i wouldn’t come back to stay here unless it was cleaned painted refreshed.

The Harbor House is a quaint romantic hotel by the Grand River, giving you quick access to the downtown and river walk! The room was well appointed with a King Size bed, Jacuzzi tub, fireplace and a private Deck with river views! The room was clean, the staff was knowledgeable and friendly, providing lots of information on the city and surrounding area! They provide free coffee in the morning, iced tea and lemonade in the evening and a complimentary continental breakfast with full size yogurts, bagels, cereal and hard boiled eggs. You have the choice of eating on the screened in porch or in the lobby area. The hotel needed some paint but I'm sure they will handle that at the end of the tourist season. Overall, my wife and I were very happy with the stay and would stay their again!

This place was so much nicer than a chain hotel. Our room was nicely decorated and comfortable, king size bed, fireplace and a large balcony overlooking the harbor. Continental breakfast in the lobby with other guests and a great cup of coffee is a great day starter. We have family living in Grand Haven so, we're sure to be staying again!

We love the Harbor House! We've stayed here many times! Beautiful, cozy rooms make this place a gem. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is put out in the morning, and they make delicious caramels. Highly recommend when staying in Grand Haven!

This is a beautiful hotel and in a great location BUT it is old and in serious need of updates. It is apparent that little to no improvements have been made since the place was built: walls, floors, furniture, structural, everything needs updating. There are no elevators. My room was on the third floor so I had to take the stairs each time. The carpet on the floors was dirty--I would understand better if this was a high traffic hotel, it is not. I literally had to fight/push my door open and closed each time. The dead bolt on the inside of the room door was broken. The sink in the bathroom was so small, I literally could not wash my face over the sink. The staff (one person at a time) is very friendly and super helpful. They have snacks available throughout the day, including a continental breakfast. Again, the hotel is very beautiful and the location is great--just beware that it is very old and outdated.
