Mugnano del Cardinale Vacations

The room was incredibly clean, and the staff was super fast with check in and check out. They were friendly and answered all our questions. The bed was large and very comfortable. The area is not necessarily a bad area, it just typical of a central station, busy and a little bit dirty, but it offers great and efficient metro to the attractions of Naples, like the Duomo, the Spanish Quarter and more. If you book an activity, most of the tours come to hotels (i.e. Starhotels Terminus) around the central station, which is 5 minute walk from this hotel so recommend for that reason. The only problem is the lift is very slow coming to the reception and very small.

The room was very clean, Breakfast was not great! There was very little choice, this was the 3rd hotel that I had stayed in during my trip and the worst Breakfast..you had to ask the member if staff for more coffee and it felt like you were imposing on them. The hotel itself is lovely but the area is very rough. Every cafe I went into advised me to put my bag in front of me and look out for pick pockets.

The check-in process was completely lacking. I stood outside for over an hour emailing calling and trying to get lit in the door. It says the front office is open, but you have to know how to get in the door. Apparently you have to use the keypad and click on one of the options that was available. But nowhere was that in the directions and the phone number to call the reception area was not taking phone calls and no one ever responded to my emails so I spent almost 2 hours standing outside until other people came along and let me in. Absolutely ridiculous!

A classic hotel with history. Could use a little brush-up but all in all a super nice experience, as always staying at an Excelsior property.

If I could give more than 5 stars for how friendly and helpful the staff was, I would. It's a lovely little hotel in a great neighbourhood. The entrance is deceiving, and it took us a little while to find it. The breakfast had a large selection.
