Vacations Close To Mt. Healy Overlook Trail

This hotel is way overpriced. The only good thing is it is near the airport and provides free shuttle bus service to and from the airport. Breakfast area is very small for a hotel this size. Night shift front desk staff are very slow and unfriendly. They need to be properly trained. Nobody really works at the breakfast area so they don’t or very slow in refilling and cleaning the tables. Breakfast area floor is dirty but nobody cleans. Bathtub in my room has mould. Will not stay at this hotel again

I tore my thin skin on the bathroom protruding latch on the sliding door. My husband went down to front desk to tell clerk. She said we locked it in open position, it was basically our fault. He came back up to room and tried to retract the mechanism but, it wouldn’t budge! She didn’t ask after me. Did I need a bandaid? Thank goodness I carry my own. He showed her the pictures at check out and she said she’d notify maintenance. Too late! On the day we drove 5 hours from Homer up to Fairbanks we tried their restaurant. The restaurant is Terrible! Out of iced tea, Sprite was only carbonation- had to send back. So, we ordered lemonade, had to send back. I ordered BLT. bacon wasn’t fully cooked. There are 2 big tv’s, one in living room, one in bedroom. The one in living room stayed locked up. Of the 14 days traveling around beautiful Alaska, this was our worst stop

Worst hotel I’ve ever been in. I walked right out again without even checking in. Dirty, falling to pieces, sketchy, inadequate parking, zero security, I actually felt unsafe. 10 minute walk to a different location to check in (and for breakfast, if you stay) is a bonus. I booked for three nights at 6pm, arrived at 7pm, canceled and left again five minutes later. Expedia contacted the property who refused a refund, even partially for unused nights. They would not respond to me directly, just ignored me. This place is creepy and disgusting. It is also not the “Extended Stay America” hotel chain you thought it might be. I did. But it’s not just me , read the reviews here - even the highly rated ones are pretty bad. I filed a chargeback with American Express.
