I prepaid through Expedia. Upon arrival and presenting credit card for incidentals, the motel erroneously charged the room rate again. Once the motel was notified, a refund was immediately reissued. This seems to happen frequently when prepaying via Expedia.

Funny smell in hotel and very musty/mildew smell in our room. Room seemed to be from a/c,but not sure. There were some new a/c units still in the box in the lobby so maybe they are making fixes? Bedding was clean and bed was comfortable.

The reason for my 3 star review is due to the cleanliness of the room. I enjoyed the staff, everyone was kind and helpful. Unfortunately the room that I stayed in, keep in mind I paid $180 a night was not up to standards. The comforter had multiple stains, there was no soap in the shower, and the front of the toilet had not been cleaned in sometime. I enjoyed the staff, 24-7 coffee, and the amenities they offer but the room was low quality.

This is the only hotel in mount vernon so you don't have another option if you want to be near cornell college campus. A couple of things to point out are....they do not have any gf breakfast options other then scrambeled eggs and those are not always good,so plan ahead. The rooms are not always really clean,as mine didnt look like it had been vacuumed during my very recent stay. The on-site washer and dryer are old and do not run efficiently. The staff are always pleasant however.

The beds were very comfortable and the hotel was quiet so we rested well. Breakfast was good. The pool area needs some maintenance but the pool was refreshing after a very hot day.

Staff was friendly, just seemed like they were all stretched too thin in their other duties to help anyone in a timely manner. Pool area wasn’t terrible, but it definitely looks like it needed some attention. Breakfast was really good.

We stayed at this hotel because of the good ratings and because it was cheaper than hotels in Cedar Rapids. It is only about a 10 minute drive off of I-380 on an easy four lane road. The breakfast was great and everything was very clean. Staff was very friendly and competent. Bed was comfortable. We would stay here again.

We’ve stayed at this property about once a year since it opened, initially so thrilled for a hotel here. Unfortunately, the property has gone downhill. Holes in the sheets, loose tiles in bathroom, sticky, dusty furnishings and the AC unit rattled and moaned so loudly we turned it off. Breakfast offerings were good. Sadly we have to cross this off our shortlist.
