Friendly pub with rooms. Excellent breakfast. All staff friendly and helpful.
The room was spacious, well presented and clean.
The staff were very pleasant and welcoming.
Overall a friendly and nice place to stay with some character and charm to it.
It was nice to see an old fashioned open coal/wood burning fireplace in use, even some of the regulars there kept it topped up,not just the staff.
The breakfasts were lovely.
We stayed in the family room which was large and spacious. The food was great we had steak and Guinness pie which was lovely .The breakfast was great .An enjoyable area ,we will look to stay again to explore the area a bit more as we stayed here on our way to Scotland
lovely weekend away at turks head, nice warm friendly atmosphere and great staff. Room recently refurbished, with great bathroom, nice food and a cracking breakfast next morning, couldn't fault anything, will revisit.
Lovely pub with rooms. Friendly staff, big and comfortable rooms with nice decor (quite recently redecorated by the look of it), good bathroom, excellent breakfasts! Perfect spot for a stay in Rothbury.
Lovely stay at the Turks Head Rothbury. Staff were helpful and welcoming. We were in no. 5 the Garden room. It was very clean and had everything we needed. Bed so comfortable. Very dog friendly.
Nice rooms above the pub, excellent breakfast, great location and the pub itself serves excellent food (and decent beers). Staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend highly!
Lovely stay, the room we stayed in was a bit tired looking, however it was clean and bed was very comfortable. The lovely staff were just pleasant and helpful. The breakfast, (included in the price) was huge and tasty. I really liked the fact that they offered a packed lunch as an alternative to the breakfast. The village of Rothbury was beautiful.
Second stay, just as good as before. Nice spacious room, heating worked well. TV, double bed, desk, big wardrobe, good lights. Nice big bathroom, good shower. Wifi fast and reliable. Good beer, good food, very nice staff.
The room was lovely, clean and spacious.
We enjoyed a well cooked evening meal as well as the English breakfast in the morning.
We will certainly think about returning for another visit.
We stayed here to explore the local area - particularly Cragside. We learned that the area has so much to offer - so will definitely be back! Our room was roomy and well equipped. The staff are really friendly and helpful. We didn't eat here (except for the excellent breakfast) but the food looked good and the bar had a nice vibe. Beers are good! Easy and free parking right outside

The staff were fabulous very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent for the price. We had a dog room but it was clean and spacious. My only complaint was the tv we could only get bbc channels to work. But we were out all day . Lovely village and easy to travel from . Nice food available all day . Good value
We had a really excellent 5 day stay. Our room (3) was huge with 2 kingsize beds and a large sofa. Bathroom was also a good size. The breakfast was good with excellent friendly, prompt service. A really good location for visiting the area and not too busy. Parking was never a problem.
It would have been useful to have some plug-in bed side lights rather than battery operated nightlights.
Overall, a wonderful stay and we would definitely stay here again.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which enhanced our stay.

New beds please.
Firstly the good bits: lots of free parking right outside the door, friendly and efficient staff and the room was clean. Sadly the outside area wasn’t so attractive and the beds need replacing. So uncomfortable. We were right next to the kitchen and beer garden so it was a bit noisy while the pub was open. The food was very traditional and of an acceptable standard and reasonably priced. A nice little village for a wander and very handy for Cragside.
To have a large bedroom, a large lounge area and a bathroom for this price is amazing. One of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. New bathroom had a large walk in shower with instant hot water. A couple of niggles in the bathroom- the tiny basin is only suitable for hand washing so don't try to wash your face in it, or shave. Also even a little shelf to put things down would be useful.
Food was really tasty and properly hot- unlike some places where it is tepid.
Staff were really really friendly.
I had Room 6 which has the windows film covered so you can't look out on the bins. As I am slightly claustrophobic I like to be able to see out even if it is bins! I hope to visit again so will ask for a different room.
