I had to fly urgently for family matters, from Barcelona, so a long haul flight in an aerial sardine can, the reviews for the View were good and the location was convenient. I got room 205 which was pleasantly located on top of the highway, just metres from roaring trucks and ambulances. There was no double or triple glazing so it felt like I was sleeping by traffic lights (the fact was sleep was impossible). The room should have been used as a storeroom, but yet, $180...

“This hotel is NOT near the airport. It should not come up in a search for accommodation close to Brisbane airport - it is in a noisy industrial area over the river. $60 taxi fare return, cheaper to stay at airport hotel which would have been quieter. The hotel closes at 4am and is extremely noisy with people yelling all night, banging doors, banging car doors, screaming, people going in and out of rooms next to and opposite our room from check-in at 9pm until 5am, you can hear planes go over and...
