The Sonesta Essential in Morgantown is decent. It’s kinda on the outskirts of town, about 10 minutes from downtown. A little further to the football game up in Evansdale campus which is we why we were there. Overall it was good. It’s budget friendly so I would recommend it based on the fact that every other hotel jacks up their prices triple for football games. The breakfast was good too and the coffee was really good. Lots of ice for your cooler and most all the amenities worked. The beds were comfortable and clean as well. The bathroom was dated and the fan didn’t work but it was clean. Overall a nice place for Morgantown!

Disappointed the fire safety door didn’t close completely on the 1st floor. The toilet was dirty under the rim and the sink was dirty behind the faucet. The bottom sheet elastic was worn out on both beds. The TV remote control function worked poorly even after changing batteries. Staff were very pleasant.

The staff was great ! The room could have been a little cleaner. But when I was taking a shower my husband flushed the toilet the water in the shower stopped completely!! The next morning he flushed the toilet and there was no water in the shower he went to take one and waited 10 minutes and only a very little bit was coming out. This was room 117. The outside the grass was about 1 1/2-2 foot tall the rock area had more weeds then rocks. The lot needed a good going over. And last the lot has no lights at night it’s pitched black not one light!!

Breakfast was decent and staff were friendly and responsive. HOWEVER, when i got in bed there were, what appeared to be, old dried blood stains on the sheets. I was given another set of sheets and found the same. I took pictures.

We had a late check in. Staff was knowledgeable and efficient at getting us checked in. The room was clean. The parking lot is oddly shaped so if you are towing, you may need to use the previous parking lot and walk.
