These are the Montezuma waterfalls-- and there are two more above this big one that you can jump off! Only a 20-30 minute hike up to the top. Be sure let a local show you the longer way around to hike to the 2nd and 3rd falls rather than climb up waterfall itself. To find them you just go behind the Mariposario bed and breakfast.
Once you're on the way, try to get to the right of the creek- there's a foot trail up the hill a little about 1/3 of the way in.

We stayed in Montezuma which is actually a small community on the beach a few kilometers from Cobano. Montezuma's biggest surprise, the absolutely wonderful food, fresh ingredients,quite fairly priced, properly prepared and excellent presentation.

Loved the small bohemian aspect; cute and charming town. The waterfall hike was amazing; so many wonderful restaurants & romantic spots for long walks by the beach. Had lunch & healing massage right on the beach-hotel Amor Del Mar (ask for Cecelia)!
