⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful property, but a few things to know before you book The Sofitel Carrasco is a stunning hotel with elegant decor and a great location. The rooms are very comfortable and the beds feel like sleeping on a cloud — truly exceptional. The location is wonderful and easy to get around from during the day. However, there are a few things worth mentioning for fellow travelers. For a hotel at this price point, it is disappointing that breakfast is not included — you would expect that to come standard at these rates. The lobby staff, while the property is beautiful, came across as quite dry and unhelpful. When I needed assistance with a passport situation and didn't have it physically on me, instead of finding a smooth solution I was asked to send the document via WhatsApp, which felt unprofessional for a 5-star property. One more tip for travelers — at night, be cautious with your surroundings regardless of the hotel's upscale setting, as the area warrants some awareness. Overall a beautiful stay with a fantastic bed, but service and pricing transparency could be improved.

Beautiful hotel. One of my favourite. Historic building that has been very tastefully restored. Rooms are modern and comfortable. Great breakfast. In Carrasco, which is very safe and infinitely preferable to the city centre (Montevideo is a small city, so getting downtown is super easy). I will definitely go back.
