A good option for families

The staff were very helpful, and the room was quiet despite being on the ground floor and near a common area. We would stay here again if we go back to Monteverde. (Wife and son are already asking when we can go back to Costa Rica!)

Mar Inn is a good clean place to stay in Monte Verde. Room was spacious and clean and staff was friendly. It is conveniently located close and very walkable to the shops and restaurants of Monte Verde town. This place is a great option for budget minded tourists.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with arranging tours and making reservations for us. The location is within walking distance to the main commercial area and not far from both the Santa Elena and Monteverde Reserves. Had a great couple of nights here.

Cute and comfy

The bed was super comfy and the AC worked well. We had a large room with a shared balcony. The location is close to town with shops and restaurants, but it’s uphill from town, so the return walk got old pretty quickly.

During my recent trip to Monteverde, I had the pleasure of staying at a charming hotel that truly exceeded my expectations. Offering excellent value for the price, this hotel provided all the comforts and conveniences one could ask for. Its central location made it easy to explore the wonders of Monteverde, while the reliable air conditioning ensured a comfortable stay, especially after a day of hiking or exploring the cloud forest. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Monteverde, as it combines affordability, convenience, and comfort seamlessly.

We enjoyed staying at the Mar Inn. Christine at the front desk showed us the map of the city and guided us to a couple of very good restaurants. Breakfast was very good as well. Close to the cloud forest and a Sloth sanctuary. Tip, park at the parking lot that says Offical Parking & take the shuttle, there is really no parking at the park entrance.

The property was good value for money and an easy walk into town. The bar at the property was great and the bar man was great, friendly and made some really nice cocktails, he was the best part of the hotel. Breakfast was okay but good considering the hotel price. One issue I did have is I booked a tour and when I showed up for the tour, they had already sent the tour guy away as they thought I had cancelled. Since it was my last night, i had no opportunity to do this tour again.
