I have a policy also; never do business with liars and cheats. I had two rooms booked through Expedia. I needed to change the dates and called the hotel directly 3 days in advance. They said there was nothing they could do; it was non-refundable and non-changeable as per the booking agent Expedia. So I spent the next hour on Expedia chat. Expedia indirectly (apparently incapable of simple direct answers) stated that they could do me a favor and change the dates for a “penalty fee.” If I paid an additional $350 for the $200 room, they could make the change. But there was no way I was getting a refund or even a partial credit. Expedia claimed the no refund policy was the hotels. The hotel said it was Expedia’s policy.

John, Every hotel has non-refundable, non-changeablereservations. They also have regular bookings with other policies, like 72 hour cancellation. You had a choice of these options and you chose non-refundable.
