The staff at this hotel is incredibly friendly. The room was spotless, but it did have a peculiar smell that initially put me off. However, it wasn’t so strong that I couldn’t enjoy my stay. The hotel room itself was clean and comfortable. Everything was nearby and that was great.

Fine to have a reasonably comfortable bed to sleep in. Bring an eye mask if the light bothers you though as the black out curtains don’t extend to cover the window which also means anyone walking by can see into your room. The pool is tiny and nothing like the pictures but it’s there.

I thoroughly enjoyed my two-night stay at the Stevenson Monterey. I was fortunate to have a quiet corner room on the third floor, which turned out to be the perfect place to relax after long days of exploring. The location was one of the biggest highlights. I didn't get in my car to drive somewhere at all during my stay. Alta Bakery, Ad Astra Bread Co., Trader Joe's, and several excellent restaurants were all within easy walking distance. I also enjoyed multiple walks to the pier, the beach, and Pacific Grove throughout the weekend. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, which allowed me to get a little work done after my morning walks before heading back out to explore. The hotel provided a great balance of comfort, convenience, and tranquility. Overall, it was the perfect home base for my solo long weekend in Monterey. I would absolutely stay here again and look forward to returning.
