It was a pretty basic hotel overall, but we slept well, the room had everything we needed, and the location was good for our needs. The hotel was very pet friendly including an off leash dog area with toys. One big surprise is that the hotel is right on the public transit line, making it easy to get to downtown and Canary Row without needing to drive.

Room was spacious and modern. It was fairly clean though after 5min walking without my shoes my white socks turned grey... Parking was free and plenty. Staff was pleasant. Location was convenient with close proximity to route 1 and a Safeway. Since my goal was easy access to Carmel to spend the afternoon & evening, and nearby grocery stores to get stuff to prepare a picnic for next day, it worked well for a decent price.
