We stayed in the cottage. Two of our group were very unsettled by sleeping with windows open, as there are no screens. They come from an urban background, so having such easy access to the interior space was the issue. Keeping windows open was important as there is no air conditioning. Other than that, life there was fine and comfortable.

Briarwood Inn is a great option to stay when visiting Carmel. It is close to the city center (you can do several activities on foot), and the rooms are large and comfortable. The only thing I would say needs improvement is the internet (very slow). I recommend this place to anyone looking for good accommodation options to enjoy a great trip to Carmel.

We were not greeted well; we arrived early and went to the front desk… the front desk person literally said..” you are way too early… we don’t do check in until after 3pm”… just a rude “welcome. Quick trip with my brother & puppy while I attended a weekend workshop in Big Sur. I would’ve given it a 5-star rating, but the WiFi was really inconsistent & slow. Overall, cute, clean & comfortable stay that was conveniently located.

Beautiful setting, quaint room. Front desk gave no info on free street parking available, so had to move car every 2 hours. No mention of shared balcony. Requested no maid service for privacy sake and front desk woman was rude to me in front of another guest when asked where I could deposit the trash.

Super cute and cozy Inn for Carmel. My boyfriend and I stayed for a weekend trip and location was key for us. So many good restaurants and shops one block away and to top it all off was pebble beach that was about a 10 minute walk. We will be back!

Love this little apt style hotel room. It was close to good restaurants and the beautiful beach. It is dog-friendly too, which is a plus.
