I loved my room and the comfortable bed. The room was well appointed and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job of maintaining my room during my six day stay. The breakfast provided in the breakfast room was great--lots of hot food options. The person who maintained the room made you feel like it was her own kitchen. However, there was construction happening on site, specifically in the room next to me, and the noise was horrendous. I talked to the woman at the front desk who offered me ear plugs. No ear plugs would be enough to block out that noise. I couldn't hear the tv. She did offer to move me but there were no rooms available on the first floor and a knee injury made me unable to climb stairs. I was most upset with her attitude which was "too bad, there was a sign in the front lobby that said there would be construction happening. You should have known." The hotel called me before I left on my trip to let me know that the pool and jacuzzi weren't in operation but failed to mention that there was horrendous noise during weekdays. Since I had paid ahead with Expedia, there was no negotiating a better, more appropriate rate. My quiet, sleep-late morning ended up being going to a nearby diner to have a little peace. I'm not usually bothered by noise but this was unreasonable.
