Chateau Montebello is charming and cozy despite its grandeur as a massive log cabin. It’s set on a beautiful estate overlooking the Ottawa River. The dining and drinks were excellent as was the staff. Our only complaint was that we booked for only three nights. Next time, we’ll be sure to book longer and during the winter so we can see the massive 6-sided, 3-storey fireplace bring the Chateau to life.

We always love to stay at Le Chateau Montebello because of its old world charm, the old fashioned elevators and quirky rooms. There’s lots to do in the summer. The nearby Montebello golf course is beautiful - check out the golf and dine package if it’s available. Also be sure to stop by the Fromagerie Montebello for its wonderful cheeses.

The pools and patio areas are great. Lots of activities go partake in but it appears they close many of them at 7. It would be nice if they are open later in the summer. The rooms need some TLC, they are definitely starting to show their age. Staff in all areas were welcoming and friendly.

Loved the feeling of being at a cottage but with full service amenities. Unique hotel that brings you back to a different time. Wonderful to just chill out in the evening in main foyer playing old school games. Staff very helpful. Easy location to do some great hiking in Laurentians. Gorgeous golf course. BBQ dinner so delicious and with view of river. Food very pricey in main restaurant but lovely atmosphere. Would definately come back. Must be stunning in Autumn.

Chateau Montebello is absolutely delightful. The stunning historic log structure, picturesque riverside views, beautifully landscaped grounds and excellent restaurants all combine to make a perfect holiday experience. The rooms and bathrooms are larger than expected in an older hotel. Some of the other amenities we enjoyed were the indoor and outdoor pools, and the hiking trails. Chateau Montebello is not just a hotel but a total experience. The resort is beautiful and well manicured and the Fairmont style employees make you feel really welcomed. We have stayed at the chateau for many many years and it never disappoints. The only negative comment is that the price of the food & beverage is astronomical $$ but well worth the experience.

Super kids friendly with lots of activities for everyone. Everything for both summer & winter seasons. Beautiful historical building with lots of memories and famous people. Totally awesome 😎 Thanks for a wonderful weekend. We have a great time together with 4 grandkids.
