Overall a great vacation! Great location on the beach and reasonably priced. The villas were very nice with self-contained rooms. Breakfast was included and a very good buffet. Great entertainment on Sundays. Improvement areas would be the wifi, which was pretty patchy, and the hot water supply.

All staff were very helpful and friendly. Food in the beach bar was tasty but unfortunately they didn’t always have everything on the menu including drinks. Rooms were cleaned daily but they need to be updated. Looking quite sorry for themselves as are the pools and outside of the buildings. There needs to be blackout blinds or curtains in the bedrooms as it’s very bright early morning. Also they need to fit shower curtains as the bathroom floor gets soaking.

Worst Customer Service Experience

Our stay was disappointing from the moment we arrived on Dec 31st. The security at the gate would not allow our Uber to drive into the compound, even after letting them know we were checking in as guests. They asked the driver to drive through a side road, park and use the side entrance. Unbeknownst to us, this was the beach entrance and absolutely did not make sense to use for guest check in. We had to walk through the sand in our travel clothes and shoes to make it through the back entrance. Our only saving grace was a couple of security guards that helped us carry our suitcases after they heard our complaints. The explanation that we got from the Reception was that there may have been confusion as the main gate security guard assumed we were New Year’s party guests and only needed access to the beach but once we clarified that we were indeed guests, the main gate security guard was unapologetic and would not even allow our Uber through the gate a second time to pick us up. We had to walk up a hill and out of the gate to catch our Uber. To make matters worse, on one of the nights, we were dropped off at about 4am, showed the room key to a separate security guard and he let our Uber through the gate, only this time to be followed by a strange man that demanded to see our room key again to confirm we were indeed hotel guests. This whole experience definitely left us feeling targeted and discriminated against. I would never again stay here.

I had a wonderful, incredibly relaxing stay at Bahari Dhow. The location is absolutely perfect—right on the stunning white sands of Diani Beach, meaning you can walk straight out onto the beach whenever you like. Instead of a cramped hotel room, you get a massive, comfortable villa with tons of space, which gave our stay a really private, home-away-from-home feel. The highlight for me was the long, beautiful swimming pools that stretch right through the property toward the ocean—perfect for a quiet swim. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, always making us feel well taken care of. While the traditional furniture and the restaurant's menu are a bit basic and could use a modern touch, the peaceful vibe, great service, and unbeatable beach access made it the perfect place to unwind and recharge.

The beds were terrible. The beds were horrible and hurting my back. The beds have wires sticking into me and my wife’s back. These mattresses are ready for the burn pit ! Even animals should not sleep in these beds. Need to change all your mattresses to attract more clients and profits.

Good place for the price

Good place right on the beach. The rooms are in fair shape. I would stay there again because it was affordable. The restaurant was good too but they did mess up on my last order and I was not able to get my order corrected or my money back because the restaurant closed and I was leaving that morning.
