A quirky and unique hotel being famously narrow

Unique hotel being so narrow. Consider ourselves lucky getting the front room on first floor. A large room with view onto town center, perfect. Parts of the public areas are showing signs of tiredness but that doesn’t detract from its charm

Five star

Hotel was absolutely spotless in every way. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Room was big with a lovely en suite. Food was lovely especially breakfast. Would 100% recommend and we will be back.

I liked the state of the hotel and the attitude of all the staff My only slight downer was using the stairway as | have a mobility problem.. Would certainly recommend any reasonably fit person to enjoy the hotel.

A No 1 place to stay.

The whole stay was perfect, the room had everything you needed. The food ( breakfast/dinner )was superb so was the drink selection including a real ale. Will definitely stay here again, highly recommend it. Family owned for 30 years not a chain.

Really nice hotel in the town centre. Free parking on the square outside. Friendly staff and a comfortable room. Had a good evening meal as well as a full Scottish breakfast. Recommend as a good place to stay’
