This is a hotel we first went to 55 years ago. It remains rustic but is in very good order and gives you a wild coast experience without useless frills, preserving the very real touch with the South African beach experience outside the high rises and fancy hotels and eateries. It is simple but very real and honestly stress free, staff is high service and amenable without being servile and plastic. We recommend this to folks who want a magnificent beach, old world charm and style na d fully remote experience. Food is great, accommodations lovely and you can just get along with relaxation with zero stress, and no Joneses to keep up with. Kid you want to do the latter, Don’t come to the Transkei. No joneses, no fancy. You can have a uniquely African experience at Trennerys, if that is really what you want.

Stunning beach and facilities

What a beautiful situation and beach. We had a lovely stay. They even waited us 5 till 21h30 as we arrived late. Awesome breakfast buffet.

We had gone out, came back around 9pm and the main gate was locked. There was no security person manning the gate. Security guard came after 15 min or so and did not have the key to the padlock. We kept on calling the cell number provided by the hotel and there was no answer. Almost an hour later, they had to break the padlock. Manager on duty not answering calls and nowhere to be found as well.
