The Pfister Hotel is not just a hotel, it's an experience, so much history wrapped in a sumptuous, elegant package. The staff is first rate; the rooms are spacious and well kept. I was in Milwaukee for a conference, and it was such a pleasure to have the Pfister to return to after a long day of work. Definitely a must stay if you've never visited Milwaukee before and want to get to know the city. Another plus is that it's just a few minutes' walk to the Milwaukee Museum of Art. Spectacular.
