A picturesque, historic Inn in a good location. We had a large comfortable and clean room, though the bathroom would benefit from modernisation, as would the amenities. A bit let down at times by some of the staff, some of whom were brusque, unhelpful or just not very proactive.

We loved the Inn, the decor, the historical aspect, the helpful desk staff at check in and a delicious lunch on the front porch. Our room was very nice, comfortable and large with a sofa which was a nice addition to the two beds. Really my only complaint was the breakfast, advertised as a Vermont Cheddar omelet but had only about a tablespoon of cheese at most, it was mostly a plain omelet with chunks of ham on top. A disappointment. I did inform the wait staff who said they have a new person in the kitchen. Okay, but a few dollars off the bill would have been appreciated.

Very nice property and within walking distance of restaurants and shops. Their restaurant was quite good with reasonably priced options and drinks. We sat outside on the deck, which was great. Room was very nice and bed was comfortable. Could use extra sleeping pillows. The bathroom could be upgraded - but it IS an old inn. Staff were all excellent and very helpful!

I love staying at this historic hotel. Ive stayed there twice. It is located near the center of Middlebury so it is near to stores and restaurants. I was visiting family so I didn’t try the onsite restaurant and spa and I didn’t use the a/c since the weather was mild. The beds were very comfortable. I will stay there again. It is a good value.
