“Lovely historic houses with beautiful old furniture. You eat in the main house (breakfast/dinner (30euros 3 courses), so if you are staying in the lower house (a complex of 6 rooms with a lovely garden and the option to use the sauna and hot tub for an additional charge) you need to walk 5mins for food. Extra activities include making chimney cake, bear watching, tour of Castle Kalnoky. We did have a car so drove to Varghus gorge for a lovely walk to see the caves (cost 50lei car park). NB if...

“Castle Daniel was an amazing experience! The property is very well-maintained, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The meals were very good. The staff were all excellent, and recommended several great activities nearby (including visiting the Suto family of artisans, and visiting Kalnoky Castle.) The best part, though, was the spa. The pool was long and pristine, and the jacuzzi and steam room were divine. We can't recommended Castle Daniel enough!”

“After arriving at the location, had to call and wait 10 min. for a person to come and open it. The advertised 24/7 front desk is by phone only. The pictures advertised are from another location. They don't have a restaurant, only a location for special events. No A/C on the first floor room. Not any kind of hangers for towels or support for toilet paper. No toiletries except 2 small round soaps. No slippers available. For the price it is a total rip off.”
