Location, location, location! Perfect spot but hotel needs to be refreshed. Stayed only one night and would book again if price is right. Do your research on parking. Wrong advertising on Expedia. Ended going to the public parking near by and was affordable. Resort fee charged in addition to the room.

It was nice to see the same staff working there from our previous stay a year before and they were so welcoming and helpful both times. We loved getting free drink vouchers for the Clevelander. We also enjoyed using the complimentary bike usage which we used to ride along the beach and for a Starbucks run. Location is so important to us and The Essex house is a perfect spot being a block over from the beach, stores and all the restaurants. The hotel is a bit older and it shows in things like the bathroom. It has a very small elevator that’s kind of slow but once we brought our luggage up we used the stairs the rest of our stay. Our room was clean and although not luxurious it was fine for what we needed. I recommend it and I will be staying there again.

Location was fantastic but an accommodations looked remodeled “enough”. Nobody goes to south beach to sleep but my only complaint would be the noise all night from outside and the neighbors through the walls. Still a great stay and the price was great. Just fair warning
