Seasoned travellers, we absolutely loved our stay at the Pug Seal Anatole France. The boutique hotel is set in a beautiful old Spanish-style house full of charm, character, and a relaxed bohemian feel that immediately made us feel at home. The location in Polanco is exceptional — very safe, highly walkable, and perfectly positioned. The hotel itself feels almost anonymous and discreet from the street, which added to the sense of privacy and exclusivity. Security was excellent and we always felt completely comfortable coming and going at any hour. There are vibrant restaurants, cafés, and bars just a short walk away, yet the property itself remains peaceful and quiet. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay, providing excellent service without ever feeling intrusive. Breakfast each morning was fresh, enjoyable, and a great way to start the day. A wonderful choice for travellers looking for something more intimate, stylish, and authentic than a large hotel chain. We would absolutely stay again.

This was our second time at Pug Seal Anatole France and it lived up to our fond memories from five years ago! It's like staying in an art gallery in your best and coolest friend's home -- cozy, unexpected, inspiring. We love the quirks of design and detail creating a hotel in an existing space requires, we love the incredibly warm staff and team, we love the breakfasts and the way the pillowcases smell. Every small touch and large art installation feels intentional and the space seems timeless, modern and somehow incredibly welcoming all at the same time.

A real boutique hotel in the perfect location

Nice boutique hotel, great location, you can walk in all Polanco area which is perfect for restaurants, cafe and shopping. Good position also for other areas. The service is great, very nice people and easy to reach, fast service and clean rooms. I would just suggest to improve a little the room itself with better aromas and insonorization to reach another level. Overall great experience, recommended!

Staff are exceptional, very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast is simple but more than adequate to start the day. Rooms are interesting, perhaps all different but only saw 2. Rooms are a bit dark with dark carpets so feel that they may not be entirely clean (could be but really don’t know). Separate toilet room also painted dark purple so always wondered if it was actually clean. Had a glassed in shower in the bedroom, a bit eccentric but good pressure. Just had to watch you didn’t walk into it in dark. Single sink could do with extended shelf so room for 2 people’s toiletries.

The area is nice but is located at a very loud intersection in addition to no elevator so you have to carry your luggage upstairs and no one offered to help. I also didn’t like that they start playing loud music directly outside my door (1st floor) where the speaker was so I did not get a good night sleep for how expensive this hotel was.
