This is a lovely quiet place to stay. The Mansion has very spacious and nicely equipped rooms and sits in the middle of a large garden with many trees and plants and active fountains. There are a couple of peacocks ranging about, as well as a very large tortoise. The staff is very friendly and helpful and speaks excellent English. When I return to CDMX with my wife, I will surely stay there again
The hotel is so beautiful and we loved all the animals! In addition to peacocks, they also have a giant tortoise and a cat. The staff was all very friendly and so kind and helpful. Highly recommend!
Alonzo, Enrique, and Valeria at the reception were amazing! They checked in on me regularly to make sure I had everything I needed; I was working on a project with a deadline and they went out of their way to support me. They even brought me a glass of wine when they saw I was stressed.
The property was lovely. It is reminiscent of a gentler time. The peacocks add a touch of elegance that is emphasized throughout the entire property. Just beautiful.
Alan and Julieta were extremely helpful in caring for us. Wonderful history tour for the facility. Very informative. Walkable to Frida Kahlo and mercados.
I love this hotel! This is my second visit, and I will return. The personal attention is exceptional. This is a unique experience: breakfast in the garden with a guitar player , champagne greeting, strolling peacocks, , friendly employees. The architecture and decor are beautiful. Love it all!
Beautiful oasis, circa 1923 property with wonderful staff, great location, solid breakfast, and (most importantly) peacocks roaming the property. We stayed in the Juliette room set off to the left of the property and liked the privacy. There were several private experiences for other guests — al Fresca cinema, an engagement proposal with a rose-lined walkway to a giant rose heart in the back courtyard, and a private dinner in the wine cellar. We only had one night but would definitely come back and stay longer.
My stay overall was pretty good. The room was spacious and the property well maintained and very unique with a terrific location near many activities and restaurants in the center of Coyoacan.
I have a few suggestions to make service a bit stronger, related to sharing more information should be provided upfront to help visitors (especially foreigners who don't speak Spanish) with instructions and tips upon arrival and basic / common FAQs, including:
- provide the gate code in advance so that visitors are able to come in and not get confused waiting outside on the small sidewalk
- communicate some common FAQs about the WiFi, water and other items ahead of guests arrival (I only later noticed that a lot of this information was actually provided in a booklet inside the room)
- since the staff don't speak English, it makes it even more important to facilitate easy and timely communication of questions and requests especially during hours when the staff are not readily visible / reachable.
Thank you!
The staff was very friendly and professional. There is so much history in this beautiful home. This is a 100yr old property, so keep that in mind. If you love charm and a unique experience, this is definitely a great property to check out. Our favorite were breakfast in the back yard surrounded by beautiful peacocks and a very friendly little cat. The neighborhood is quite busy and the streets are narrow. Inside the property, you can barely hear any noise.
A lovely little spot in the heart of Coyoacán. Great service (thank you Martin!) and excellent location. Breakfast in the courtyard among the peacocks and other friendly furry visitors was the highlight.
My only concern was the locks in the door to my hotel room. I was traveling alone as a female and the only lock to my door was a simple push-lock on the door knob that could easily be maneuvered from the outside. I wish there was at least a dead-bolt from the inside for better security. Despite this, everything else was perfect!
it was great until i was accused of sneaking in extra guests. my friends were tourists like us and desperately needed to charge their phones to get an uber. The language barrier made it hard to explain to the attendants working and i do not blame them at all calling their boss (Those guys were great btw. they deserve all 5 stars). But the boss who spoke to me in english was somehow less understanding than the men who initially raised the concern. It took almost an hour to finally convince him that the phone charging friends had left the second we were told about situation.
All in all amazing people, but management left me feeling unwelcome
