“Rooms and location with free parking was great for the area—much more reasonable than other places we looked at. Comfortable beds, and while the breakfast wasn’t anything to write home about, it was pleasant and filling. Nice to have that covered on our first day of the trip. This place isn’t anything fancy, but it was fine. Easy bus ride into city centre. Would recommend if looking for a good, basic option.”

“I enjoy a hotel that makes you feel like the location… not some generic place that looks the same in every location. The Porterhouse was great in that regard, made me feel like I was in Oxford. Clean and comfy room and great location. Staff was great and helpful in every way! Breakfast was nice. I would definitely stay again!”

Everything was laid on and Helen was superb in anticipating everthing I needed. And the breakfast - well - no words to describe how great it was. “Fantastic cosy room. Lovely shower , comfy bed. The check in is via phone and a key safe . The room was well stocked and very clean. Main problem is the doors to rooms don’t have quiet closing so when the ignorant other guests go in and out there is constant slamming of doors. We stayed in the room with exposed beams and it was very well thought out . Good for walking holiday due to location.”

“Great location for peace and quiet and walking into and around abingdon. Rooms basic but nice, mattresses could be more comfortable but were acceptable and the breakfast great and plentiful. My second and definitely not last visit.”

“This older home was well maintained and comfy. It was close to the centre of Banbury and down the hill to Banbury Cross and the statue of the lady on the horse. Breakfast is included and there is a wide range of cold or hot meal options; there is a kettle in the room with tea bag’s and coffee packs with sugar and UHT milk made it easy to have a hot drink in your room early morning or in the evening.
