It is not a matter of “dislike” per se. This is an old, old facility that is being upgraded “ mañana”. For that reason, I could only give the facility two stars.
However, there are other aspects to consider.

NEIGHBORHOOD WALKABILITY: 8 Merida, like much of Mexico has narrow, uneven sidewalks that are crumbling. Be careful where you step!
I paid for LOCATION & WALKABILITY.
Everything else was a bonus!
I stayed for 21 days (mid May-Mid June the average daytime temp never dropped below 100F) and for the most part everything was good. Everyday, a staff member asked if I wanted room service if I was still in the room when they came through. Otherwise, they cleaned the room changed the sheets and towels.
They have a good breakfast. If I opted to go across the street, I could eat breakfast a Chilakilz.
I would stay there again.
