I have found my favourite vacation spot in the yucatan! Staying at the Mundo Maya Uxmal hotel was a 10/10 experience for us. We originally booked two nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. My husband and I both thought it was just going to regular 4 star hotel near the popular Uxmal ruins in the nearby town. Oh was I so wrong! This hotel is situated in the bio reserve area in the Nuevo Uxmal park. The grounds were beautiful and immaculatly maintained by their dedicated staff

We stayed in 4 of these new hotels within 2 weeks. This one was empty and felt sad to be so forgotten and unused after a year. The hotel DESPERATELY NEEDS SIGNS ON THE ROAD. You have to call for directions. Google Maps is wrong and staff knows this. Unlike every other hotel, this was unmarked and we spent over an hour trying to navigate without a WiFi signal. The road to the hotel is long with blind spots. It will take 20 min from the road. Not sure who planned that absurd bike line but a two lane would feel safer. The price and pool, amenities staff are great but wow, but a sign on the road or send txts to guests like the others did. Food was best here.

Do NOT follow Google Maps directions to this hotel if you are driving on Highway #261. Coming from Merida/Muna direction, you will find the new road/driveway to the hotel on the right, just before the Uxmal site/Hotel Hacienda Uxmal Plantation. There is a new sign noting "Hotel" This new hotel is fantastic! It starts with the drive in, through the jungle, on the new road/bike path. Watch for animals on the road. We saw many deer, iguanas and a coati. We were greeted at the front door and ushered in to check-in which was quick and pleasant The hotel is beautifully appointed. Our room (jr suite) was huge with two full bathrooms, comfortable king bed, kitchenette and large balcony. Air conditioner was quiet and worked well. Plenty of bottled water provided. Lots of hot water and good water pressure. The pool area is lovely and will be incredible once all the trees etc reach maturity. Drinks and dining were adequate. It was the low season and though we did not experience any shortage, it seemed the food may have been reheated rather than prepared fresh. We brought our own food for breakfasts All staff were very friendly and engaging. Many staff carry tablets with translating apps to overcome any language barriers. We would recommend this hotel to those with their own transportation. The hotel provides free shuttle to/from the Calkini Maya train station and the Uxmal archaeological site. We did not see a single taxi at the hotel during our 3 night stay. Wld stay again

Me gustó el lugar. Los acabados son hermosos. El cuarto muy cómodo. La atención en recepción fue poco cálida. A pesar de que había poca ocupación no nos permitieron ingresar a la habitación un poco antes de las 3. Fueron muy rígidos. No había transportación al sitio arqueológico a pesar de que era un servicio anunciado. La comida en el restaurante no era buena y el mesero requiere de una capacitación para dar un servicio más eficiente.
