Beautifully restored, elegant 1890s home provides a comfortable experience; host is as warm, charming and engaging as the historic property she cares for. The breakfasts are simply wonderful. Will make this our base for all future visits.

We stayed at Oaklawn for 1 night and will definitely be back! The house is clean, quiet and we enjoyed the history. The porch is beautiful! We had a fabulous breakfast with other guests and had great conversations!

A house from the 1800's, a true Bed and Breakfast, nicely furnished with ample Parlour and Living Room areas to peruse many books or play games. The two breakfasts we had were both wonderful, and sitting and talking with other visitors was the best part. No TV's, bravo! Walking areas outside the door, wonderful porch to sit on, a very relaxed setting. Menomonie is small so nothing is very far away. Well done, Stephanie!

Absolutely Amazing!

Absolutely amazing! Owner shared the history of the area and of the beautiful home! She has a number of books about the area including the logging history and the history of the Mablel Tainter Theater. We have already ordered a book of the logging that she showed us. We would definitely recommend this B&B! It would be a big mistake not to stay if you are in the area!

The Oaklawn definitely exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed several hours on the screen porch relaxing and watching the sunset. My room was beautiful and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and I enjoyed talking with the other couples who were staying there. I could not say enough about how pleased I was with the whole experience

Greeted warmly by owner, Stephanie, who made us feel right at home. Happily explained the history of the home and the area around. Beautifully appointed rooms and furnishings. Accommodations for late nighters or early risers are available in the dining room. Bedroom is comfortable and elegant. Overall, quite pleased!

Oaklawn Inn was a delight to stay at. Stephanie, the owner, is wonderful at sharing the history of the house. The beds are very comfortable, shower pressure is great and breakfast is delicious. Don't hesitate to book a room at the Oaklawn Inn if it is available- you won't be disappointed.

Despite our host coming from Kentucky, She was extremely knowledgeable of the history of the home and the lumbering business of the area. The home has been carefully restored, yet has modern comforts. Our breakfast was fabulous. My husband and I go to bed and breakfast’s every year on our anniversary, The Oaklawn Inn is a gem.

Charming stay in a period setting

The owner of this place has done an amazing job of restoring this beautiful home and creating a comfortable bed and breakfast. The host was there for all our needs and served up a wonderful breakfast shared with the other guests. The building is located in a business park, which is a bit odd but not an issue for our stay. Very conveniently located to downtown Menomonie. The place is older and, while very well-updated, has some of the features you would expect. The tub in our room was original and a bit of a challenge to get in and out of. That suits me fine but be aware. If you are someone who appreciates the effort it takes to strip decades of paint from old doors to restore them to their original glory, and enjoy a welcoming B&B environment to admire those doors, this place is for you.

I had a wonderful stay at Oaklawn Inn recently. I came to Menomonie to attend a concert at the Mabel Tainter Memorial Theater. I decided to keep with a theme and stay at Oaklawn Inn, since it was also built by Andrew Tainter the same year as the theater. I was warmly welcomed by the innkeeper, Stephanie. She shared a wealth of information about the history of the property and the Menomonie area in general. My accommodations (the gold room) were outstanding. I felt as though I had been transported back to the 1890s but with modern amenities and comfort. The next morning, Stephanie prepared a delicious breakfast for me, and we had another chat about history. She was very respectful of my time and didn't want to burden me with too many details. I assured her that I appreciated all this information and welcomed more. Stephanie explained all the restoration that she had done to the property. Her attention to detail is impressive. I highly recommend a stay at Oaklawn Inn for anyone visiting Menomonie or anyone interested in the history of our state. You won't be disappointed!
