This Victorian Inn is beautiful and comfortable. The historic accents have been lovingly preserved. The native garden and friendly cat add to the ambiance. My room was the lovely library. So comfortable. The food is delicious and the staff so cheerful and helpful. Just a short walk into Mendocino that does not fail to delight. I didn’t want to leave.

We had a great stay at Joshua Grindle! A beautiful/charming B&B at an ideal location and would absolutely recommend. We felt welcomed and that this place not only represented Mendocino, but had us fully immersed into the vibe of this unique town. The team treated us not only as guests but as part of the family. Fresh baked scones, banana bread, house made granola, and everything offered with care. Hope to be back and stay here again!

It was a beautiful room, beautiful grounds. The staff was outstanding! Walking distance to all the shops and restaurants.
Breakfast on the porch if you want. The parlor is also gorgeous.

We first stayed at the Joshua Grindle Inn about 45 years ago so in planning an outing to celebrate my husband's birthday we decided to go there again. The new owners have only been there about 10 years but they are doing a wonderful job of maintaining the vintage character of the Inn. We had a wonderful time!

We are loving our stay in this beautiful historic inn. It is in town and convenient (walking distance) to all the great restaurants, shops, art galleries, plus the coastal trail and nearby beaches. The room is very comfortable and we feel right at home.

This cosy inn was perfectly located in the town of Mendocino. We were a couple traveling with our young adult son for 2 nights, so we took their triple room, The Grindle. It was a perfectly sized room for 3, with a comfortable queen (?) bed and a separate adult size single bed tucked into the side of the room. The entryway had a generous cabinet with enough space to store suitcases. The shower & toilet were airy and well appointed with toiletries & fluffy towels. Breakfast was a simple but tasty affair with home made baked goods and granola. The 24/7 Parlour with filtered hot& cold water and coffee & tea machine was perfect for a late night herbal cuppa or a morning coffee before breakfast opened. Staff were welcoming and spent time to suggest some hiking routes and popular restaurants too. Overall very happy for booking this historic property for a little light hiking & exploring of the county. Sadly we had to leave very early on departure day. Only wish we had more leisure time to enjoy their property and little flower garden…

Our stay in Mendocino was made even better by staying at the Joshua Grindel bed and breakfast. Breakfast was delicious! Scones, banana bread, homemade granola, and more. We ate our breakfast on the porch. The grounds are delightful, filled with flowers.

We LOVED our stay here and will definitely return. The flower gardens were amazing during our August stay. The chocolate chip cookies were yummy. The breakfast scones & gluten free banana bread were outstanding. They even were generous enough to share the recipes. Assistant Melissa was so helpful explaining details of how to make the scones. Innkeepers were especially warm, friendly and inviting.

A pleasant experience, location, hosts

The hosts were very friendly and helpful, eager to please. They gave great suggestions of where to go in town. The building is historical so revuew is taking this into consideration. Our room (south) really needed an extra table to be able to sit at or place our suitcase on. There was plenty of room for one The bed was incredibly comfortable. The location was close enough to town to walk but we drove due to rain. A nice place if you feel historical. Breakfast was decent, not over the top though

Very nice place

We slept in tower 1. Very nice room with an excellent bed and clean. The people are very nice. The Inn is nearby the center of Mendocino and is in walking distance of everything. We enjoyed our stay very much. Improvement suggestion: less sugar during breakfast! Everything they serve is sugar rich. Very sweet granola, only sweetened joghurt, sweet scones; no natural joghurt, no ham and no cheese.
