Went for a one night stay. Hotel looks impressive but a bit tired inside. Staff were pleasant but could be a bit more friendly. They were young so perhaps just need some time.

Lovely old style building for exploring the area

Lovely grand old building. Rooms were decent. Shower is rubbish could do with investing in more modern showers. Breakfast was good and the bar was well stocked. Good place to stay to visit the borders

The only issue had was that we thought the breakfast could have been hotter. The other food was excellent. Our car broke down as we were leaving but the staff were lovely. Made it clear we were welcome to stay inside while we waited for the RAC. They couldn’t have been better
