We had a stranger enter our room and look through all of our things and move things around, eat our food and sleep in our bed. Clearly this hotel doesn’t value security of its guests as it allowed someone else to get a hold of the same keycard. Also the clientele seemed to be rowdy and potentially intoxicated and we are now finding out that they house drug addicts from a nearby hospital. Disgusting. Awaiting a full refund

We booked a couple of nights in a one bedroom suite. It was perfectly clean, spacious and well appointed. Bathroom / shower very good, strong & consistent water flow. Good kitchenette which we didn’t use, full size fridge & freezer. Only complaint, if you like, was the same as I have with most hotels or motels, the matress on the bed was too firm for my liking.

Room was clean, spacious and good value for money. Walking distance to Clarendon St, Botanic Gardens, Southbank etc. The front entrance/lobby doesn't give the best first impression, but the stay itself was fine.

Reception staff were lovely and had to work with challenging circumstances. Maintenance very much needed on the rooms - everything from no hot water for a night, lights not working, hair dryer not working, door not closing properly, unable to find clean blankets, terrible smell in reception ….. list goes on…..the place itself could be fine- just needs maintenance to keep it working help the staff to have the tools they need.

City Edge in South Melbourne was very clean and comfortable. It was easy to find but a bit difficult to get to the front door because of roadworks once finished it should be okay. It is close to Melbourne and their is trams close by so you don't need to take the car out all the time.

The property was neat and tidy inside. Not much appeal when you arrive at reception. The room was quite spacious and the bathroom was large. I stayed three nights. One of the nights doors kept opening and banging shut repeatedly in some part of the building. I don’t know what was going on! There was no room safe which would have been useful. Reception staff were helpful.

Business stay in South Melbourne !

Well, apartment unit is rather new but needed some form of maintenance, i.e. broken toilet cover and clothes hangers, etc. Housekeeping services would need to improved also. Otherwise, everything is OK.

I’m aware that there’s a complimentary breakfast included in our booking.This is my second time I stayed here and this time I’m with my friend who’ll take an exam nearby.When we arrived I’ve noticed that we don’t have the complimentary breakfast which is in a box supposedly.We informed the lady receptionist (evening) and she told us it should be there.So, I checked again but still I haven’t found anything and went down again to confirm.We can see from her face that she’s upset, we don’t understand why she’s being upset where in the first place they are the one who forgot to put the comlimentary breakfast.She just gave one, and I told her we are 2 staying on the room.As receptionist, she should not give some attitude to the guest.I hope she’ll be more approachable and personable for her to be fit in her position.There’s no phone inside the room so if there’s any concern we still need to go down and talk to the receptionist.Please don’t tolerate this kind of attitude.

There were several maintenance issues with the room one of the doors to the balcony didnt lock properly among other issue. Also my credit card information was stolen the day after leaving i left my card in the hotel room while i was out. There was a lady in reception yelling someone went through her bags now i know why.

Stayed here for one night and it was a very nice hotel, in a good location. Friendly staff and easy check in. Room was nice apart from the stains on the bedroom floor near the mirror. Only down fall was I got an email a few days prior asking if needed parking I said yes and then was told on arrival that the car park is full as there is only 15 car spots so had to leave our car out on the road as there wasn’t anywhere with available spots close to us at that time. It was free parking but with cars getting stolen daily you get abit worried. And cleaning trying to come into the room before it was even check out time. Overall was a really good stay and will book again.
