As positive: - the hotel and the room were clean - the location was great for St. Charles Train Station - despite the busy area, the hotel was quiet of outside noise - the room was of a good size As consideration for improvement: - check in is advertised as 14.00 start, I arrived at 15.00 on 20.08.26 and initially had to wait outside, I was given entry via a cleaning member of staff and through her broken English I understood the receptionist had gone shopping, thus, I had to wait in reception for her return, I have never experienced this in 200+ hotel stays - On 21.08.26 at approx. 10.30 I came down to reception to ask questions about a taxi, I was similarly advised by the cleaning member of staff that the receptionist was not available - On the evening of 21.08.26 after one hour of constant moving of furniture in the room above me I called reception who advised he would attend the room straightaway, sadly the noise was still ongoing at 23.30 - A very minor point, naturally i would of preferred some English channels on the TV

Our stay was great for our needs! We stayed one week and had the handicap room that had a queen bed and two twin beds. VERY spacious and great for my eldery mother and two sisters. The hotel has been completely updated and is kept in very clean condition. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The windows are fantastic for keeping most of the noise out. However there is a school nearby and if you are at the hotel during the day the kids at recess are very loud! Its nice to have the windows open, but you can definitely hear all of the city noise. Location is fantastic, and easy to catch an Uber to get anywhere in the city. Great value for the room size, location, and amenities!

Hotel cleanliness was adequate and nice rooms but the manager was extremely unprofessional and entered our room without knocking or notice during the late evening to check the air conditioning. Once we brought up the concern we didn’t feel safe with people entering our room without notice they got very defensive and refused to acknowledge our concern.

A week in Marseille

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. It is literally round the corner from Saint Charles. So very convenient for visiting other nearby towns. Two of the reception staffs we met gave great advice on places to visit and metro, tram tickets, etc. They were lovely. Thank you for an enjoyable stay!

Our bathroom drain flooded and we could not use the shower or toilet for nearly our whole stay. They were not able to properly fix it and refused to work with Expedia when we were trying to get any amount refunded. Don't stay here!

There was a stain on our sheet which we discovered that when housekeeping came by they didn't switch the sheet - they turned it over. I found that humorous but it indicated their priorities; need to save water somewhere.

Room a lot smaller than what pictures let see. Couldn’t open our luggage except if it was on the bed. Many broken furniture and the ceiling obviously had leaked during the past but was never re-plastered. Staff is very friendly though.

Worst hotel experience ever

Front staff very unfriendly and unhelpful. Ceiling in our room was damaged from water leak above. There was no soap or extra blanket in room which was chilly. We were on 5th floor and the elevator was not working on day of our departure so had to carry luggage down 5 flights of long steep staircase. Room was so small we couldn’t open our suitcases.
