The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great recommendations for lunches and dinners. The hotel room was very clean and spacious for our needs. The hotel was in a great location. It was very close the train station and rental cars. Also there were several restaurants within walking distance. They do not have parking, but there is a garage that the car rentals are in that is public parking as well. This is a family owned hotel. The breakfast was great.

Overall a great stay. Staff were really outstanding and my junior suite was very comfortable. The location is a good walk to the most popular tourist areas of Marseille but can't be beat for convenience when it comes to the train station.

During our recent trip, we visited many different places—and I can confidently say that Alex Hotel was the best. The staff were very helpful, the location was fantastic (right across from the station), and the hotel was very clean and spacious. The breakfast was excellent as well. The only issue we encountered was with the spa. There was a young Chinese couple with a newborn baby wearing a diaper in the spa area. They brought the baby into the jacuzzi. Out of courtesy, we left the jacuzzi area and waited until they were finished. However, after they left and we entered the jacuzzi, we noticed something at the bottom of the water. We were quite certain of what it was, so we left immediately. I hope the hotel considers implementing a policy to restrict access to the spa for babies or young children in diapers, to ensure hygiene and comfort for all guests.

On arrival coming out of the elevator to our room there was a pile of laundry on the floor near our door . Our carpet in the room needed cleaning . Walls needed washing , stains . Room needed painting desperately. Glasses were not picked up or replaced during the 3 days . No bar of soaps in the bathroom . Am breakfast staff were lovely .

Great hotel near railway station

Excellent location if you wish to be near the railway station. The young man who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. When walking into our room it smelt wonderful, it was a really lovely aroma , we loved it. The bed was very comfortable, we had a great nights sleep. One small problem for my husband who has mobility issues was the toilet was very low ( minor issue ). We arrived around two ish and the lady on reception at that time said our room would not be ready before 3 o,clock.

One of the receptionist was so much help, I wish I got his name, helped us with getting to the airport and visiting the nearby Calanque. Also the spa was absolutely premo!

Fantastic for a short stay in Marseille

Hotel was conveniently located by the train station in Marseille, which meant using the shuttle service from Marseille airport to the train station made it the hotel very accessible door-to-door. It is a short walk to both the port and Le Panier, two great areas of Marseille. The hotel staff were extremely accommodating and were always on hand to assist. I would definitely stay at the Alex again if I return to Marseille in the future.
