Beautiful boutique hotel. We really enjoyed our sea view rooms with access to the complimentary “Pantry” stocked with treats. It was a quick walk to the beach, nice restaurants and unique stores.

We had such a lovely time in Margate - huge part of this experience is down to super comfortable hotel suite with magnificent views on the beach and the sea . The suite was super clean and equipped with everything we needed for this short stay - it was such a lovely experience that I wanted to stay longer by a day or so . Unfortunately this highly sought after hotel was fully booked. It is a gem so I am not surprised … thank you to hotel staff and management for such a lovely experience . Joanna

No 42 is a beautifully restored building in the heart of Margate.. The room was exquisite, one of the best I’ve stayed in. I didn’t eat in the restaurant but it too looked fabulous and was fully booked. The issue that lets the hotel down is the lack of staff behaviour

We loved having a room with a view of the sea. And a little private terrace to go with it. Very beautiful as dusk fell. Being in the heart of the Old Town was great. However, for a top room (£300+a night), we were expecting something more 'special.' The beds were comfy, the linen lovely, and the art work charming, but the room didn't feel special, and it felt tired. A friendly guy brought us milk for our coffee at 8am - but why was it not in the room? No mini fridge either. A mini fridge is pretty much standard in a pricey room! We'd heard the breakfasts were great. However, the eggs, though perfectly poached, were smothered in manufactured gloop. So, a mixed bag! However, the staff (especially the waitress at breakfast) were lovely.

Lovely property right on the front at Margate. Beautifully designed and maintained room. I really enjoyed the breakfast, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful. My own fault for not checking but can’t rate the dinner as the restaurant was closed on Tuesday night.
