You are family here in the best way possible! Maran House is absolutely incredible. I fell in love with my beautiful room from the first minute. The beds and pillows are so comfortable, there is plenty of hot water, the breakfast is generous and tasty, the views are amazing, you're walkable to so much great stuff (food, shopping, historical churches and mosques, etc), and most of all, the proprietor and the staff are the most beautifully kind people you'll meet in your life. Thank you so much Omar and all of the staff, you're the best!

The hotel is located on a very steep slope with many steps to reach it, so it is definitely not suitable for elderly guests or anyone with mobility issues. However, the view was amazing, looking down over the valley of Mesopotamia. Our room rate included breakfast, but unfortunately my son has a gluten allergy, so he could not eat any bread and the breakfast choices were already quite limited. When we asked if they could prepare some fried potatoes (chips) for him instead, we were told there would be an extra charge. They ended up charging nearly £6 for a portion of chips, which is one of the most expensive chips I have ever paid for. Considering we had already paid for breakfast as part of the room rate, and my son could not eat the bread options available, it was disappointing that they still charged such a high price instead of accommodating a guest with an allergy. Because of this experience, I will give this property a 3-star review and would not stay here again. It is not about the money — it is about the principle. It is a shame that for the sake of £6 they could not accommodate a guest with dietary allergies.

Wonderful

Wonderful and beautiful place! The staff is just incredibly friendly (Musa Bey, Sibel, Ahmed) thank them very much for everything. The room is very clean, beautiful. The breakfast is very tasty, all the products are fresh. The atmosphere is like home, not a hotel. It is located in the center, but not in the middle of the road and this is very pleasing! I will definitely come back and highly recommend it to everyone!

Für unsere Mardin-Reise haben meine Mutter und ich dieses Hotel für drei Tage gewählt. Da mir die Fotos gefallen haben, habe ich eine Suite gebucht. Das Suite-Zimmer entsprach den Bildern, allerdings erzeugte das Höhlenzimmer extrem viel Feuchtigkeit. Trotz zwei Luftentfeuchtern waren diese nach 6–7 Stunden voll und mussten geleert werden. Durch die Geräusche der Geräte und der Klimaanlage war Schlafen unten im Bett kaum möglich. Der Hotelbesitzer nahm unsere Beschwerde ernst und gab uns am nächsten Tag ein kleineres, aber trockenes Zimmer. Am letzten Tag konnten wir in ein größeres Zimmer mit schöner Aussicht wechseln. Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr gut. Unter der Woche fanden wir problemlos einen Parkplatz und beim Tragen der Koffer über die typischen Mardin-Treppen wurde geholfen. Frühstück war ausreichend, die Altstadt kann man bequem zu Fuß erkunden. Negativ war, dass es in den ersten beiden Zimmern weder eine Sitzecke noch einen Ganzkörperspiegel gab. Außerdem waren die Zimmer sehr staubig, teilweise mit festgesetztem Staub. Telefon, Lampen und Bettköpfe waren nicht sauber. Zusätzlich sah es so aus, als wären die Zimmer mit Möbeln darin gestrichen worden, da überall kleine Farb- und Putzspritzer zu sehen waren. Abgesehen davon waren der Hotelbesitzer und die Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
