The hotel lobby and common facilities were very good. The view from room the view is stupendous and overlooks the royal Mandalay Palace and moat. 😀 The room is however old and the bathroom older. The toilet did not flush at all and we had to complain a number of times 😡! Besides, the room wasn’t well insulated and it was uncomfortably cold in the night at 12c. The air conditioning only cools and there is no room heater. HOWEVER, the Chef Mr Mukul Agarwal and his team are simply brilliant 😀👍. They cooked up some amazing meals for us and lavished care and attention during our stay. The Chef made many Burmese vegan delicacies and he and his team more than made up for any misgivings we had about our stay at the hotel.

It has a grand looking and tall ceiling in the lobby and corridor. It should be one of the best Hilton properties. It is also near to the tourist popular royal palace and Su Taung Pyi.

Le personnel est sympathique.l hôtel a part le hall est dans un état de délabrement épouvantable.Nous avons changé de chambre 2 fois.La première fois parce qu’elle était humide,la deuxième fois parce qu’il y faisait trop froid et qu’ils nous ont proposé un radiateur électrique.Dans la salle de bains il y a encore un rideau douche.Il n y a pratiquement pas de lumière dans la chambre.Comble du comble pour un Hilton,ils n acceptent pas la carte American Express. Bref cet hôtel est une honte et j estime que vous devriez demander un geste commercial à mon égard

El Hilton Mandalay está en una ubicación inmejorable: justo delante del cuadrado rodeado por el río, que contiene el palacio Real, y en frente del monte de Mandalay con unas vistas espectaculares. Ambos sitios son accesibles andando desde el hotel. Hay varios restaurantes y bares limpios y modernos cerca del hotel. Las instalaciones del Hilton son buenas, particularmente las zonas comunes que están recién renovadas (piscina y comedor, con un desayuno variado y exquisito). Old hotel in need of drastic upgrade

The hotel needs a drastic upgrade: carpets are old and smelly, old and noisy air conditioners cannot keep up with the heat, room toiled was not working well, elevators worked randomly, fumigation was done outside while people were enjoying the pool and everywhere in the hotel (restaurant, washrooms, lobby, ) one sees these air freshners put there to cover up the bad, if not almost moldy, smell. I stayed there last year and it was never that bad. Things deteriorated 100% since last year, Renovations are taking place, but this is taking way too much time. The only redemptive thing is the quality and niceness of the staff. In fact, one feels very bad for them, as clearly Hilton has let them down. I will not return there even when the place is upgraded. I also stayed at the Hilton in NPT, which was so much better. However, because of the bad state of the Hilton in Mandalay, my next trip will see me staying in Accor hotels throughout Myanmar.

Good holiday

Air conditioning was inadequate in breakfast area and room. Otherwise the stay was excellent and location was extremely good.
