We stayed just briefly for a night on our way back from Scotland. The hotel was super easy to find, had parking right outside the door and a pleasant atmosphere with guests enjoying dinner on the terrace. Staff was friendly, the room nicely decorated and without trying too hard, which I did appreciate. Even my husband who usually struggles to sleep through the night slept soundly. Thanks so much for a pleasant stay!

The bedrooms were well-decorated and characterful- definitely not motel style. The communal areas were charmingly set out and very comfortable. The atmosphere was true to the hotel’s past history and staff were exceptionally polite and accommodating.

Throughly enjoyed our stay at the Talbot, it's a unique venue with excellent facilities and staff. The food was great, as were the views and surrounding area. Quite a few shops and restaurants in Malton are closed on Monday, so that's worth taking into account. It didn't detract for our stay though. We will be returning.

Fabulous hotel on the edge of Malton. Room was huge with a great view over the gardens and river, though if you get room 11 or 12 its a bit hidden away and not properly signed from the staircase. Highlight of the stay was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was professional , courteous and surprisingly all local

Lovely night at The Talbot as we were at an event at The Cook’s Place. The room was bright, airy and spacious, and staff all willing to help. Breakfast was delicious. We’ll definitely choose to stay again.

Hotel location in Malton is great. Car park free and plenty of spaces. Staff welcoming and accommodating. Food was good, albeit had to wait 1.5 hours for Sunday lunch as I believe the dining in the bar area was fully booked, which had a knock on effect in the restaurant....however we were in no rush and had a lovely afternoon there.
