We had a great stay at the apartments. It was great to have access to laundry, a kitchenette, a dishwasher, etc. in the middle of a long trip. The welcome bag provided was a nice touch, containing everything we might need including a sponge and a dishwasher and laundry pod. Great area with lots to do/see in a short distance. The property provided quick response when we had a question.

The location is fantastic. Other than that, the apartment didn’t look the same as in the photos. Everything in it was the most basic thing ever leaving a cheap filling to it all. It was clean. There were unpleasant noises of running water from the water hitter, so we had to turn it off. And once in a while a noise that sounded like someone is coming into the apartment. We only stayed there for one night. I guess it’s worth the money. Over all OK nothing more. We stayed at Apt 5A.

Madrid BFF trip

The room was awesome and cool because it was so hot in Madrid. The place was clean and we really enjoyed it. The only negative was getting a hold of the rental agency to get new towels and toilet paper. It was a great place otherwise.

The worst was check in. We spent an hour and a half after check in time standing in front of locked door to get thr instructions on how to get in. Btw, there were two more couples having the same problem. Finally we've got email. We stayed fo 9 nights. There for we should've get one cleaning service in the middle. However we found it out accidently 2 days before depature. A couple of small things. Renting apartment with kitchen, one would expect cutting board, kitchen towels, something to hold hot pots.

I am so happy I stayed here during my stay in Madrid! Before my arrival, they texted me (via WhatsApp — recommend this if you're switching SIM cards or on an alternative communication plan while traveling) simple and comprehensive instructions for how to get into the building, my unit, and other need-to-knows. This is an excellent place to stay if you don't wanna stay at a hostel. I love how close this hotel is to an LGBTQA -friendly area with shops & a Mercado. There are sturdy hardwood steps and a cute retro-style-with-the-door elevator to help you get up and down the building. Housekeeping floats about the premises and keeps things very tidy. The front door is well-secured and the street is well-lit at night. The combination washer/dryer came in clutch as I was at a music festival and going on other city adventures; this is crucial if you're on a multi-city journey across Spain or the rest of the peninsula or continent. I got a Tide pod with the mini housekeeping kit provided. Within walking distance are a pharmacy and corner store where I was able to get additional essentials for my trip. The kitchen also comes with pots and pans, a coffeemaker without filters (I bought instant coffee), glasses and mugs, cutlery, and other basics. The bed was super cozy and the balcony was wonderful for morning brews and warm-ups under the sun. The Chueca metro station is a very easy walk from the hotel and easily gets you anywhere in the city. Would def stay here again :)

For starters, instructions to access the apartment were wrong (and only in Spanish). The water kettle didnt work. There were no instructions how to use kitchen appliances (induction stovetop was hard to turn on). The bathroom lacked shelving or unit to place toletries. There wasnt even a trashbin. One bedroom had no closet or dresser to put belongings, and both bed springs/mattresses were basic. Walls are thin and you can hear conversations/toilet flushing from adjacent apartments. It is listed as accommodating 6, but we were cramped with 4 (only 4 chairs for the kitchen table). Support is nonexistent as no one responds to questions via text, and there is phone number that nobody answered. We went to the "24 hour service" near the apartment, and a woman named Desta said she couldn't do anything for us and there was no supervisor or manager available. She said someone would call, but no one did. We do not recommend.

Like having a broken AC in Madrid’s 37C summer? Love being gaslighted by their support staff that the AC has been fixed, when both ‘technicians’ they’ve sent over aren’t HVAC staff and only cleaned the air filter and played around with the remote? Then this is the perfect hotel for you. This apartment has no front desk, and getting into contact with any staff can be a hassle. Once you are in contact, their staff is absolutely useless. Anything goes wrong? Then you’ll have to make do. - They only gave 2 rolls of toilet tissue to a family of 6 people staying 6 nights. - The dishwashing liquid literally comes in ration side packs of 20ml. - Don’t even bother cooking in the apartment, cause they might have a kitchen, but have a lot of missing pans, and equipment. And the living room will be boiling, with the lack of AC. - toilet extractor fan doesn’t work. A short story. A t-shirt and a dress fell off of the clothes drying hanger. The cleaning person told us it’s not her job. We contacted the ‘front desk’ through WhatsApp, was told the cleaning staff would bring the clothes the next morning. The next morning, no update. We contact over WhatsApp, and after some confusion they realise the apartment below is owned by someone else. Be very careful drying clothes, since they don’t offer any clips to pin clothes on to. Been in 7 different hotels all over Iberia, over a month now. Been to so many different hotels… this is absolutely the worst hotel I’ve been to!

We loved our stay at Smartr Madrid Chueca. The location was easy to find and central/walkable to everything we wanted to see. The area is very lively in the afternoon and quiet, but not unsafe late at night. The staff was kind and quick to respond to any questions via WhatsApp. The place was clean and comfortable. We would book it again happily!

This property is very conveniently close to Puerta del Sol. There is no outside noise at night. It is clean. The problem appears to be poor management. The phone number is provided but it is never answered. They should make it clear that all communication will be by WhatsApp. They should make it clear that an entry code will be provided on the day of checkin. Handle of washer broken, no plug for kitchen sink, walls very thin so any noise from adjacent apartments is noticeable.

Die Unterkunft ist gut gelegen, sodass man fußläufig in wenigen Minuten die Gran Vía und das Zentrum erreicht. Sie ist recht geräumig und weitestgehend sauber, jedoch riecht es in der Wohnung nach Rauch und die Einrichtung ist nicht gerade modern. Das Bett und die Kissen waren nicht wirklich komfortabel. Die Kommunikation mit den Vermietern im Vorfeld sollte kundenfreundlicher gestaltet werden, sodass man zum Zeitpunkt des Self-CheckIns auch tatsächlich die richtige Hausnummer und den Eintrittspin kennt. Alles in allem höchstens ein mittelmäßiger Aufenthalt, den ich nur low-budget Touristen für kurzfristige Besuche anraten würde.

The unit we stayed in was absolutely horrible, the couch ( where actually some of us were supposed to sleep on) looked like 1000 people threw up on, wiped their feet and it was never cleaned. Only the kitchen cabinets looked somewhat like the pictures, nothing else - really wish there is an option to attach a picture. As a reference, we stayed in unit 5c. It is referenced as the apartment having AC, but the temperature can’t really be changed. Also, it’s only partially cooled. If I was not traveling with kids and had the strength to argue right there and then- I would not have stayed. If there is a scale for hospitality services offered- this one should rank negatively, like minus 5 out of 10. My advice- stay away!!! As of the area- close to the city center, but like with most large cities- be careful! Lots of pickpocketers, drunks, etc. No smoking property??? Really? We were smelling smoke every time in the unit.
