The hotel is very dated and not fancy, but the location is A+. Right across the street from The Prado and The Botanical Gardens, and so walkable to many other Madrid sites. Very clean!!

The room was ok, it was clean and it had a great front view. Bathroom was tiny, but beds were comfortable. The room was extremely noisy, not from outside but from adjacent rooms, you could hear noises all night. Location is great with a 10 min walk to Atocha.

Friday and Saturday, the 9th and 10th, 2026, I stayed in a very nice room (Room 507). However there was a strong, noxious septic smell in the bathroom. I reported it to the man at the hotel desk on Saturday but was told nothing could be done that evening. By Sunday morning, the 11th, the smell was even worse and I reported it to the woman on the hotel desk who offered to change my room. I accepted the room change with the caveat that I wanted a reduction in my room rate because the new room (Room 502) was a downgrade, it was not as nice as the room I had before (Room 507). I was told a manager would contact me. I'm home over a week and no manager has contacted me. I'm not sure what else to do. In addition, there were NO amenities except a hairdryer and a bottle of soap attached to the wall. That was it. No coffee/tea, no breakfast offered with the room, nothing.

Nice hotel! The rooms are clean with great aircondition. The service level varied from mediocre at check in to amazing at check out. If you are looking for boutique, this hotel is on the generic part of the scale. Good value!
