I enjoyed my stay at La Fontana very much. The room was spotless, small but very functional. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The location of the Hostal is incredible, within walking distance to many places you'd like to visit in Madrid and with excellent connections to the airport.

Some renovations and maintenance required Location excellent if you prefer to be at heart of Gran Via, all shops restaurants bars 100m away down side street, so quieter than directly on Gran Via. 200m to Gran Via Subway. Little bit pricey for condition of rooms

The staff was excellent, the check-in process was very easy, the room was very small as shown in the photos. For a single person I really didn't need anything bigger. The location was really in the center of everything which is great except for when you try to sleep you can hear everything on the other side of the window and on the other side of the door. It may not be the best for light sleepers. For me cleanliness & convenience were the most important so five stars for that.
