Lovely, simple, comfortable hotel with a cosy, authentic feel. The room was comfortable (great beds and plenty of room) and everything very clean and well cared for. Our room was at the front of the hotel overlooking the street and it was very, very noisy for much of the night. Guests who are light sleepers might want to request a room facing the back.

Had a great 3 night stay here. Maastricht is great city with plenty to do with the Monastere in a great central location and it was very comfortable with nice bedrooms. We had a small drain issue which was fixed very quickly. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel.

The bed was very soft which was great but the room was carpeted and the carpet looked very dirty. There are no closets and we were unsure about the cleanliness of the bathroom.

Unfortunately, our one-night stay at Hotel Monastère was overshadowed by an unacceptable hygiene issue. On the morning of our departure, we found two cockroaches in our room (Room 215), one even crawling on the bed. We took photos as proof (see attached image). We had very little time before check-out, so we didn’t report it to the front desk in person – instead, we emailed the hotel shortly after. While the hotel did respond, the tone of the replies was more focused on what we supposedly did wrong (not informing reception immediately, not showing the insects) than on sincerely addressing the issue. Cockroaches in a hotel room are not a minor inconvenience – this is a serious cleanliness and maintenance failure. The offered 25% refund did not reflect the severity of the situation, and the lack of understanding in the follow-up communication made it worse. We expected a much more professional and guest-focused handling of this incident. Definitely not the experience we had hoped for.

Hotel Monasterè is centrally located for walking to major areas of old town Maastricht. Rooms are a bit small and bathroom is not well lit. Excellent breakfast buffet in welcoming environment. Staff was friendly but seemed a bit disorganized at times. Difficult to make/confirm changes in reservations from afar.

The room was poorly illuminated and could have used a couple of chairs as well as a small table for writing etc. We experienced a significant amount of road noise and interior noise from adjoining room doors. The hotel was conveniently located to Maastricht center.

Mooie locatie, maar teleurstellende schoonmaak We verbleven 2 nachten in Hotel Monastère in Maastricht. De locatie is absoluut top en het bed lag heerlijk, dus qua comfort en ligging scoort het hotel goed. Helaas liet het onderhoud en de schoonmaak te wensen over. Er zaten vlekken in de vloerbedekking en we vonden zelfs medicatie op de grond bij aankomst. Ook was de lamp in de badkamer kapot en kon dit tijdens ons verblijf niet worden gerepareerd. Het uitzicht vanuit onze kamer was bovendien minder dan gehoopt. Het personeel bood wel hun excuses aan en gaf ons ter compensatie twee flesjes wijn, wat we op prijs stelden. Al met al een gemengde ervaring: goede ligging en bedden, maar hygiëne en onderhoud mogen echt beter.
