My sons and I stayed for one night at the hotel Charlemagne so we could experience the city and the food culture it provided. We enjoyed the air conditioning the hotel had to offer in the rooms AAA we happened to hit a warm spell at the time of our visit. The lobby is fine, the elevators smaller than one might expect at a 4 star hotel, but all in all the photos of the facility are fairly accurate. It is a nice place to stay for the money you pay.

Overall ok - hotel and rooms need a bit of updating/ refreshing in my opinion. The first room I was in had several non working plugs. Second room also had some non working ones but was more usable. Staff was very kind and helpful. Location is good and within walking distance of the city centre and close to public transport.

To expensive, small Room, very old and damaged, worst bed i have ever slept in, very loud, coudnt sleep - we left the Hotel asap to get away - dont recommend it!

Decent location...walkable to all the cool areas on the island. If walking isn't your speed, there's a tram station across the street and a metro station within five minutes or so. Safe area, decent bar/restaurant options immediately close by. The hot spots start after about a 20 minute walk. Hotel itself is nice, clean, and decently renovated inside despite an older looking exterior. Staff is nice, room always cleaned, and the breakfast had lots of options.

The staff were lovely but this is not a 4 star hotel. The rooms are incredibly small, the elevators…you can barely fit two people let alone any luggage. The area is blah with not many places to eat. Overall I would say this is 2.5 stars.

Nice hotel but toilet room excessively small. You have to (proceed) with your knees touching the door. The washroom is the size or smaller than on a plain. Not good at all!!!!

Not enough towels and bed linen for the number of people in the room. 24 hours reception not available, waited outside for a long time buzzing the doorbell until someone was able to call a French number and we were let in. Ok bar. One friendly and helpful staff member, the rest seemed disinterested.
