The property is at a great location for the middle of Lyon. Great access to cafe's, bars, and shopping. Quick walk across the Saone to Old Lyon. Restaurant located on site was very nice, we had the buffet. We were also able to store luggage and even use the bathroom as we walked around after checkout. Highly recommend.

Great location and well maintained. A big difference between the room quality and size. My carpet was grubby and warm and needed a renovation. Other rooms available are better Restaurant staff have a poor attitude. Hotel staff try to be helpful. Be aware not much of a bar at the hotel and the area to sit in and relax with coffee or a drink often booked out for functions leaving guests no where to relax.

Clean- helpful staff; good location. Would recommend. They are part of a larger hospitality group. The globe didn’t have hot water when we were to check in, so they made arrangements for us to stay at another equally rated hotel in their group. They took care of all the transfer details for us. Both hotels are great. Le Phenix and The Globe & Cecil.

So, I'm going to write the good, the bad, and the ugly. The Good: Great location, Great restaurant inside hotel, World class shopping is right outside the door. Plenty of cafes and restaurants close by. Very close to the Old Town. The staff is very nice. The Bad: maybe it was the room I booked, but I had a small room on the back of the hotel. My view was an air ventilation area. The rooms on the street were much nicer. Shower head leaked from the bottom of head where the hose attaches. Housekeeping must see this every day, so not sure why it was not fixed. Room safe is with key, not a combo, and the little safe is not attached to anything. I booked a double bed, but it was 2 twins joined together, so I slept in the crack. Repairs on wall needed, as there is a hole in the wall (looks like from recent new a/c install. Now, the Ugly: The a/c is temperature controlled from the front desk. That is right! They decide how cool or hot your room should be. I've never seen anything like this. I overhead front desk tell a guest that they turn the a/c in all rooms to 25 degrees Celsius at night. I asked them to keep mine at 22. That worked most of the time. I randomly had the temperature changed to 25 one morning, and I went to the front desk and they changed it back to 22. Also, the rotating vents of a/c unit made a clicking sound that went on 24/7. Other than all that, I had a great stay. And, the food in Lyon is AMAZING!
