What a lovely little hotel with super-friendly staff, good food and a great location. They arranged a trip to East and West bank and that was well priced and the guide was excellent. Packed breakfast for an early start was ready, waiting and delicious!
Great location , lovely outside space , parking was on the street

Nice breakfast, beautiful and quiet location. Great to have a lovely garden, swimming pool and quick access to the public ferry. Staff friendly but bills not always right. Watch out! Some unwelcome noise (construction noise finish late at night and start early in the morning). Hopefully this is a temporary problem. Despite these issues, we'd stay there again as the hotel offers good value and is welcoming.
Amazing place tucked away with local community- beautiful building and stunning architecture- comfortable clean bedrooms (bed very comfy) - staff were amazing- so polite/ friendly/ welcoming- really lovely guys. Had a take away breakfast beautifully packed for us as had an early morning trip booked.
The property is beautiful with lovely gardens and a little pool. The room could probably do with a bit of updating but for me it was fine for the price. There was a power cut both mornings I was there. Not sure how frequent this happened as I was only there 2 nights and was out all day on both days. Both times the power was back on within about 10/15 minutes and I wasn’t in the shower at the time so not too much of a problem. Shower was nice and hot. Location is great. It’s a 5 minute walk to both the local shops and the corniche where you can get a boat across the Nile to the east bank
It was a nice booking experience. Hotel was clean and have very good location

Great value for money.
Lovely one night stay...all the staff were very kind and helpfull. If you want an amazing value stay away from the trappings of the main town..this may be the destination for you..set in amongst local village life its away from the big corporate hotels..nice and peaceful.
Great little hotel on the West Bank. Clean, safe, comfortable. Nice pool. Easy walk to the riverfront, near good local restaurants. Owners helped arrange tours, and laundry. Very nice.
It was situated in a quite area along with the locals and other hotels near by.
The entrance to the hotel is deceptive as inside it is very big and has a large swimming pool.
The team looking after the guests were absolutely friendly and helpful.
The hotel food is cheap and delicious with a good selection.
I would recommend this hotel for any family stay.
Our stay was perfect. The hotel is very close to the ferry 10 egp and you're in the other side. Room was confortable and clean. The service was good thanks to Rafa abd his team hassan and mohamed.

Great staff, poor wifi, average stay.
Beautiful location and very nice staff members. The manager, Baha, was very kind and accommodating, especially when we accidentally got the hotel location wrong for our late night check in.
The garden was beautiful but the Wi-Fi was very poor in the room. We also were scratching ourselves in the night because, we think, it may have been a cleaning product used in the bed? The breakfast wasn't anything special.
Not safe for travelers. The manager is not a professional. At 5pm on Feb 22 Sunday, he banged on my door, in a hoodie, without identifying himself. He demanded $25 for airport tranfer. Then I realized this was the manager, one Bahaa. I asked him if that was him, and offered my hand. He merely said $25 dollars. The room itself is clean but very shabby. The linens are ragged. The water heater leaks. None of the electric sockets or lights work. Do not be fooled by the nice garden. Americans and Europeans whe expect professionalism will not be happy. I left the next day for a hotel free of the scams being run from this establishment. Make it easy on yourself, go somewhere safe and clean.
We truly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is a little oasis on the west side. Close to all the sights on that side of the river but also close to the boats that can take you to the east side with all the other temples. The hotel was in good condition, we really enjoyed the courtyard! The food was good, breakfast was a buffet. The pool was great too, even if a little too chilly for me (we went in early March). The staff asking for tips was not necessary, but everything else was great. Our room (family of 5) was spacious and everything was clean. The mattress could have been a little softer ;) but we all survived ;)
The property is alot larger than the description so there is alot of quiet areas to lounge and relax. The staff were all attentive and pleasant but also respected our privacy without too buch bother.
The included breakfast was the best we had in all of Africa and did not get bored of it in our week stay.
The only complaint was the WIFI and television. There was no wifi in the rooms and though you could connect in the common areas the data rate was so slow many webpages would not even load.
Do NOT be fooled by their delightful pictures - the hotel is run down, dirty, uncared for and lacking in many basics. In our doulbe room, there was one broken coathanger for us both - I ask for more - none came, so nowhere to hang clothes. Bed WAS comfortable however. The bathroom bin was again filthy and the shower curtain stained bacteria pink at the bottom. Soap is provided. The pool area is in need of upgrading - the sun lounger pads are filthy. Garden could be lovely - again if it was cared for, Owners/staff lie about the foyer making walking through feel uncomfortable. Breakfast was varied, but cold! Cold rice, cold scrambled eggs. No-one spoke any english to understand request for butter. Lastly they askED for $25 to take us to train station. We refused. One of their team asked us again 5 times right up until we were walking out the door, coming down to $10. We had already decided to go independently by ferry and in-drive taxi - costing us £5.
They get you beer from elswhere which you have to pay in cash
First off staying on the West Bank is the way to go. East bank is crowded, loud, and full of tourists. If you want a bit quieter more local option the West Bank is great. That being said Hotel Sheherazade is a gem! Safe location tucked away off the Main Street. The property is large and has everything you need. Clean pool, large courtyard, great restaurant area, and the staff and owner are so so nice and helpful. We booked one night but ended up staying three! It’s a 3 minute walk to the dock to catch a boat to east bank, and 15 minute taxi to see valley of kings, temple of Hatshepsut, etc. believe the hype, this little hotel is a great deal, and you will feel like a local and treated as part other family. 10/10 would stay a million times more.
I booked the wrong days, I called to explain this to the front desk and I received no help. Instead the person at the front desk try to charged me double for one extra night telling me in a rude way pay or go. You will be pressed for tips even if they do nothing for you. The only polite and nice people were the kitchen staff. Be aware you get what you paid for! Our room was dirty and there was no mattress covers, just a sheet between you and a very old and dirty mattress. I had to go and get extra bedsheets to cover the mattresses. The bathroom was dirty and the fridge inside the room was not working and it smelled bad.
Amazing food and atmosphere; enjoyed the area very much. Everyone made us feel so welcomed. The service was outstanding. Wish we could have stayed longer.
The staff was great. They made it feel more like a family visit than a hotel. They helped arrange tour of a bunch of West Bank sites, and generally went out of way to be helpful throughout stay. I preferred staying on West Bank, though more hotels are on east side. Property included a good restaurant and a pool.
The hotel is wonderful with nice gardens, pool most of all the staff were outstanding. Super friendly and welcoming I shall miss them all.
Kindly,
Michele 🌻
