Tyvärr så motsvarade inte vår första upplevelse av hotell Storforsen våra förväntningar på ett ☆☆☆☆ -hotell. Jag fick vänta länge i receptionen på att bli incheckad då receptionisten var på baksidan för att röka, bemöttes ganska avmätt och utan ursäkt. Vi bodde en trappa upp, en våning som verkligen skulle behöva renoveras för att nå dagens hotellstandard. Väldigt slitet. Från den fläckiga heltäckningsmattan till de repiga plastglasen. Trots det tilltagna priset så kändes rummet mer som ett lite fräschare vandrarhem än ett hotellrum. Storleken på rummet var dock bra och utsikten är ju fantastisk! Vi hade bokat middag i restaurangen och för första gången i mitt liv skicka tillbaka maten (lite med gråten i halsen, men den var faktiskt oätlig). Serveringspersonalen var dock enastående och försökte att kompensera oss med god service och reducerat pris.

Receptionen gjorde jobbet, men inte mera. Vi behövde hjälp med kyls/frys till medicin som skulle hållas i kylskåp. Det kunna man inte hjälpa med. Då jag själv frågade om jag kunna använda kyl/frys på den intilliggande campingen gick det bra. Men det blev en springande fram och tillbaka. Jag tyckte att det var dålig service och vi har aldrig förut blev nekat att deponera medicinen i kylskåp på något hotell. I övrigt saknade många bland reception/restaurang personalen den professionella vänlighet som man oftast möter på hotell. I restaurangen fanns a la carta i den dyra ända.I bland fanns kvällsmeny, men den var också dyr och inte riktigt värd priset. Det var inte möjligt att beställa en räksmörgås eller liknande. Frukosten var OK, men inget mera. Rummen var fina. I bra skick och fin utsikt över Storforsen.
