The hotel is 10 -15 min walk to Chapel Bridge, sitting on a hill above the lake front. Charming hotel, very friendly and polite staff. The room was rather small and it looked like it needs to be renovated a little bit but we stayed for one night only, so we didn’t mind. The bathroom looked renovated and clean which is always very important to us. We opted to have breakfast there (about 30 franks per person). It was a nice spread of breakfast items in a beautiful dinning room. We would recommend the hotel and would probably stay there again.

Lovely spot looking over the lake. If you take the bus to Casino, you'll have to carry your luggage up the hill a bit (which is why you get the nice view). No air conditioning though - it was got when we were here.

For $30 US breakfast each morning was wonderful. There’s no place else to eat nearby so that is your main option. It had all the eggs and bacon, cereals, smoked salmon, yogurts lots of breads. The view of the lake Luzerne is fabulous from their balcony. Be sure to get a Lakeview room.

we enjoyed our stay at the hotel in Luzern, Arad (Front desk) helped us check in in, he gave us recommendations for things to do and places to eat around. Our room was clean, spacious with two balcony’s and amazing windows, bathroom was tidy and bed so comfortable . Breakfast buffet was complete. I will definitely recommend this hotel.

Stayed 1 night in May 2026. Location was ok - we took bus from train station to Casino-Palace stop and then walked the remainder. Hotel is located up hill and could be difficult to access by foot with heavy luggage. Room was a good size and had beautiful panoramic views of the lake and city. No air conditioning, but with windows open and using provided fan, we were comfortable. Would have preferred to receive Lucerne visitor pass prior to check in so we could have used it for the bus ride from train station to hotel.

Our family loved Hotel Royal Luzern. The staff was the best part for our group, and we would recommend them for any future opportunities/promotions. The rooms are a bit older, but we didn't mind. The location was great and we would certainly stay here again.
