The Chateau was beautiful inside and out! We had a room on the second floor with sweeping views of the city and the lake, from both our front window and a small balcony on the lake-side of the building. The views were unbelievable! We had breakfast on the Terrance the next morning, with the same beautiful views! The funicular was not working due to a thunderstorm the day before we arrived, so we were bummed about not being able to access the property with that, but there was a shuttle van from the hotel that transported us both directions as needed, which was nice. The drivers of the shuttle were very friendly and helpful, as were all the staff at the hotel. It was one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at! Get a room with a view! It’ll be worth it!

The chateau is beautiful. And the view from the patio is amazing. We loved that we could hop on and off of public transportation because we were guests at the hotel. We had a nice stay at Château Gütsch. The highlight of the hotel is undoubtedly the spectacular view from the terrace, which overlooks Lucerne, the lake and the surrounding mountains. It’s the main reason to stay here and it’s truly breathtaking, especially in the evening. Our room was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which was much appreciated during the hot weather. The breakfast was also very good, with a nice selection. One of the hotel’s biggest advantages is its location. Although it sits on top of the hill, getting to the city centre is incredibly easy thanks to the private Gütsch funicular, which takes you down to the centre in just a couple of minutes. The only aspect of our stay which could be better was dinner at the hotel restaurant. While the setting and views are beautiful, the food itself was fairly average and didn’t quite match the standard we expected from a hotel of this calibre. If you’re looking for a hotel with unforgettable panoramic views, and easy access to the city, Château Gütsch is an excellent choice.

Views were beautiful from the hotel and breakfasts was good. We love the funicular and very convenient location, walkable to everywhere and easy access to tram stop, a QR code visitor card given by the hotel gives free tram rides.No kettle or tea trays provided which is a disappointment, may be we need to ask?? Overall, enjoyed our stay and would love to go back.

The property is beautiful and it is fun to ride the funicular up and down to get there. The hotel is close to everything so it is a great location. Our issue was with the room. I know it’s an old building and perhaps little can be done, but our tiny room consisted of a bed up a rickety, noisy stair case and a bathroom which was literally the entryway of our room on the first level. All of that could work if the other space had a nice cozy feel but there were only two chairs in our room, like dining room chairs, so no comfortable place to rest after a long day out walking. And the chairs were separated, one upstairs and one down so you can’t sit with your spouse. For the most expensive place we stayed in for our weeks in Europe, it was a disappointment.
