“The Buck Inn is in a prime central location on a picturesque street. I think some of the recent reviews are unfair. Richmond is an expensive town and most places charge £160 to £180 per night. The Buck Inn charges £85 a night for a double and that includes a very good breakfast. The room is a large en-suite with tea/coffee/hot chocolate facilities and a fair sized tv. “The hotel was out in the countryside with excellent views over the moors. It was very clean and well cared for. Car parking was good. The room size, bed size, etc was great. One small problem - the room lighting was not very bright during the night time. The food was excellent and the staff were great. It was also a great place for walkers with great access to the countryside. I would recommend it.”

“The Village Inn was the perfect place for a stopover while travelling further south. Ideally located a short distance from Northallerton. Large car park, restaurant with a really good menu choice and very reasonably priced. The room was extremely clean and comfortable with heating you can control yourself. Powerful shower and very hot water. Breakfast was great, with choices of full English, Vegan, cereals etc. I would highly recommend the Village Inn to everybody looking for somewhere to stay...

“This pub changed hands September 10th 2026. I arrived on the 11th. Met by two large under-controlled ladradors, a strong smell of smoke (remember what that was like?) and a pub with no tap beer , no kitchen or other staff. No food. I left pronto. This review may be unfair to the new owners but my reception was less than impressive and I have my doubts. Caveat emptor.”
