Room was a generous size, bed really comfy, towels a good size and curtains full length and thick, keeping the light out so enabling us to sleep on in the morning. Room looked a bit tired but there was some redecorating going on in the hotel. Problem with the shower in that water temperature was too hot and couldn't be reduced. Staff member had a go at fixing this on a temporary basis until maintenance person available. We were there to attend a function. This was held in a lovely modern room in another part of the hotel. The buffet was good but the bottle of white wine we bought was not chilled. Breakfast was disappointing as the hot water for tea was not really hot. We saw only one staff member at breakfast. He was kept busy taking orders for and serving cooked breakfasts so no-one was clearing tables and dirty dishes were piling up on the tables. Only one toaster available. That was slow, with only 2 out of 4 slots working.

The bed was so hard, mattress was so thin that it was about as comfortable as sleeping on the floor! The single bed was better. The room was very tired, and the furniture very worn and old. The positive was the price and the included continental breakfast which was self service and had a good selection.

Check in was a joke . Rang bell 3 times before anyone came to reception. When they did arrive tried to charge me again when I had already paid. My message said breakfast ( continental was included) . Got up next day and female staff member said it wasn’t so we went elsewhere for breakfast. ON return I showed them message from hotel to say it stated breakfast was included. They did give us it the day we were leaving. They didn’t offer to reimburse for breakfast as their mistake I asked for two wine glasses for our room as bar was dark and dingy . The lady carried on talking to someone setting up a stall and left me standing waiting for a good 5 minutes . The hotel is run down which is such a shame as in a beautiful village in a lovely location . Bus stop outside to go to Leicester or Loughborough. Would I stay again ? Not unless it had a complete renovation and they got new staff as service extremely poor and rude .

Tremendous value. We were in Leicestershire for a pre-Christmas family get-together. The hotel was everything we needed. The rooms were clean, warm and comfortable, the staff friendly and happy to help, and the hotel had a pleasant festive vibe about it. Great location in the middle of Quorn too. Thanks again to the hotel manager who whipped out the first aid kit when I was daft enough to injure a couple of fingers at 10pm on a Sunday evening.

Parking was easy and secure. There was no bar but not problem for us. When I booked, the confirmation informed me that a continental breakfast was included, however upon arriving I was told breakfast was £7.95 each, but I am not complaining because the prices were all reasonable.
